Three Years in a Row: Njuškalo Is a Great Place to Work

For us, it’s not just a benchmark that tells us what we’re like as an employer, but a survey that helps us, year after year, take an honest look at what we’re doing well and where there’s room for change. Over time, it has become part of our culture: to pause, ask people what it’s like to work here, and then adjust the way we work accordingly.

Being a GPTW-certified employer also means that many colleagues actively took part in the survey—this year, as many as 86% of Njuškalovci. In total, 165 people rated statements across areas covering trust, team spirit, and how management behaviour is experienced. That’s an important signal for us, because without employees’ honest input, the certificate doesn’t mean much.

The Trust Index measures the overall share of positive responses in the survey, and ours shows that across all questions, 74% of responses were very good or excellent. That’s a solid indicator that we’re headed in the right direction, but what matters even more to us are the “internal” nuances—where we’re strongest, and what people recognize as the quality of their everyday experience.

Work–life balance is one of those areas that shouldn’t be up for negotiation, and at Njuškalo we truly pay attention to it. That’s why we’re happy to see it among the highest-rated categories. Similarly, the sense of belonging also scores highly—not only to the team you work in, but to the wider circle of colleagues as well. In this category, the responses that stand out most are those related to the welcome people receive when they join, support during internal role changes, collegiality, and the way we look out for one another.

We’re happy to receive the certification, but it isn’t a goal. The results are the more valuable part of this story, because they show us where we are today and what we need to do to be even better tomorrow.
